ECPMF needs an Organisation Talent

In these days of fake news, hate speech and autocratic regimes media freedom is in danger, even in Europe. It’s our mission, together with our European partners, to defend that freedom, with the European Charter on Press Freedom as our starting-point.

The European Centre for Press and Media Freedom requires a part time (50%) event manager to start as soon as possible.

You will be responsible for planning and implementing conferences and other activities under the close supervision of our Advocacy and Communications Officers. This is a temporary post until the end of the EU project funding in mid-February 2018 with the possibility of an extension.

Your duties will include:

  • Planning, organisation und implementation  of conferences on the theme of press and media freedom
  • Working on publicity campaigns on behalf of persecuted journalists
  • Taking care of conference speakers and officials from our friendly network in the freedom of expression community
  • Writing conference programmes and leaflets
  • Producing creative content to support the ECPMF mission

Essential qualifications:

  • Degree in event management or comparable education
  • Professional experience in organising events and publicity campaigns
  • Informed interest in media politics and society
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent German and English language ability, with additional foreign languages as an advantage
  • Professional appearance, reliability and excellent communication skills

ECPMF is a small organisation with a staff of seven people and we believe in team spirit.
