Hans-Ulrich Jörges | Founding Member of ECPMF

One of the initiators of the European Charter on Freedom of the Press, which was formulated in 2009 by 48 editors-in-chief and leading journalists from all over the continent. The goal of the initiative was to assert the charter's validity across Europe and to make its adoption a condition in EU accession negotiations. He is Editor in Chief for Special Affairs at the German publishing house Gruner+Jahr, one of the largest printing and publishing houses in Europe with branches in 20 European countries, including France, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland, Italy, and Austria. Hans-Ulrich Jörges is co-editor of Stern Magazine and one of the most prominent journalists in Germany. The British Financial Times counted him among the most influential commentators in the world. In 2004 Jörges was elected Political Journalist of the Year.
